About our in--store alterations

Alterations are where the true magic happens.

When it comes to your wedding gown, the “perfect fit” isn’t just a goal—it’s a necessity. No matter if you special order or buy off the rack, you will absolutely need alterations to achieve that gold standard, fits-like-a-glove look.

Alterations are where the magic happens, transforming your wedding dress into your pinnacle dream gown. Due to incredibly high demand, we only have capacity to alter roughly 10% of the gowns we sell—all offered on a first come, first serve basis. (If we’re booked solid, don’t worry—we’ll give you a list of trusted vendors to alter your dress.)

We never want a bride to cut corners in achieving her expertly-cinched gown. For that reason, our alterations are a $995, all-inclusive price. Unless you physically add a new element (like sleeves, belts, or an outer skirt) to your ensemble, we will do everything possible to achieve that precisely-contoured look at one all-in-one price.

Our four-step process

Discover your perfect fit.

To check our in-store availability, please request alterations as soon as your dress arrives, by calling 508.679.8770 or filling out our online form.

First fitting

6–8 weeks before the wedding

Alterations are a work of art. Period.

Like any masterpiece, it takes more than one session to craft a perfectly-sculpted dress—one that appears as though it’s been painted on. Your first appointment is to simply pin your dress, to create a mold your seamstress can follow. You’ll discuss hem lengths, the bodice, and your overall vision, without any permanent changes being made.

Second fitting

3–4 weeks before the wedding

At your second fitting, your gown has become a loose sketch of a final product. The bodice and hem are loosely stitched, and you’ll discuss any adjustments, make final pins, and discuss bustle options before any permanent cuts or sewing takes place.

Third fitting

2–3 weeks before the wedding

At your third appointment, you’ll try on your dress to ensure it fits perfectly. Bring your phone and a friend, as you’ll learn how to bustle your gown for your big day. You’ll communicate any final tweaks to your seamstress to ensure a flawlessly-contoured gown.

Bridal gown pick up

1 week before wedding

Your dress is finished, and ready for your special day. You’re welcome to try on your dress one final time if you wish. It’s been pressed and steamed, with all details (like bleeding) inspected. Please note: While we place your dress on a padded bust within a garment bag for easy transport, we strongly suggest giving your dress one final steam the morning of your wedding.
